FAQ’s

Do I need a GP referral to see a Physiotherapist?
If you are attending as a private patient you do not need a referral to claim through your health fund. If you are attending as part of a workers compensation claim, motor vehicle accident or as a DVA client you will need a GP referral prior to attending.
Can I claim through my private health insurance for Physiotherapy?
Yes, if you have ancillary cover. Initial consultation code is 500, subsequent is 501, group physiotherapy is 560 and class physiotherapy is 561.
Can I claim on the spot after my appointment?
Yes, we have HICAPS for instant claiming.
Is Physiotherapy covered by Medicare?

Some people with chronic conditions or complex health needs may be eligible for up to 5 physiotherapy sessions per year under a Medicare Care Plan. You should talk to your GP about whether you are eligible. Medicare rebates are currently $56.00 which does not cover the full cost of a consultation. We charge you as a private patient and payment is expected on the day. We then submit your claim to Medicare electronically who deposit the rebate into your account within 24 hours. We do have some appointments available with a graduate Physiotherapist with no out of pocket expense so please ask reception about these when you call. If you wish to see a Senior Physiotherapist there will be a gap.

Are there discounts for concession card holders?

We offer a $10 discount per appointment to health care card and pension card holders. Cards must be shown to reception.

What should I wear to Physiotherapy?
Loose comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area. If you are coming for a knee issue please bring shorts. If it is a shoulder problem please wear a singlet top or sports top as we will need to see your shoulder blade. For a lower back issue don’t wear a dress. Your physiotherapy will protect your modesty with appropriate draping.
I have had X-rays or scans. Do I need to bring them?
Generally no as we have online access to all the major providers
Do I need to have an X-ray or scan before I attend?
In the vast majority of cases you will not require any scans or X-rays. If you do require one your Physiotherapist can refer you or arrange it with your GP.
