Golf Physiotherapy
Our clinic director Adam Floyd is a golf tragic and started playing at age 11. In the past 12 months he has started taking it more seriously, playing and practicing every week with some mild rewards as far as GA handicap goes.
Adam treats hundreds of amateur golfers of all levels with the most common areas needing attention being back/neck pain, knees, hips, shoulders, core strength and flexibility.
We see similar patterns across golfers particularly male “older” golfers. Golf requires mobility through the hips and thoracic spine (middle back – where most of our spinal rotation comes from). Restriction in these areas can create issues with your neck or lower back. On your backswing your neck needs a decent amount of left rotation (for right handers). And of course improving your general and core strength may add a few metres to your drives!
So if pain or flexibility is affecting your game book for an assessment with Adam today.
For aspiring and pro golfers we recommend seeing Martin McInnes at Beaufort Physiotherapy. He is the Golf WA and Golf Australia (WA) physiotherapist, looking after the state junior and senior team members, national players and PGA professionals and trainees based in WA.
