Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common disease involving a gradual loss of articular cartilage (the smooth stuff in our joints that acts as a shock absorber). It commonly affects the hip and knee but can also affect other joints including the fingers, ankle, shoulder and spine.
Exercise is a crucial component in the management of Osteoarthritis. Large amounts of research have demonstrated that cardio-vascular exercise, resistance training, balance exercises and weight loss are beneficial in reducing OA symptoms and improving quality of life (and avoiding or delaying a joint replacement!)
Regenerate run our very popular OsteoBlast and OsteoRehab classes designed for clients with Osteoarthritis. These group sessions include resistance exercises, cardio exercises, balance drills and mobility work in a fun supportive environment. Click on the class links above for more information.
