Are your ready to run after pregnancy?
When? Ideally, high impact exercises should not be resumed before 12 weeks after the baby is born.
Why ? Women that return to high impact before this time frame may be at risk of developing a pelvic organ prolapse.
What If I had a c-section? It was previously thought that the scarring process took 6 weeks. Now we believe that only 50% of the scarring happens at 6 weeks. 90% of the scarring can take up to 7 months.
With or without the buggy? It is not recommended to run with a baby until they are at least 6-9 months old. Best technique is with two hands on the buggy.
How can I get stronger? It varies from women to women and that is why you should seek the advice of a physiotherapist. This will help you to create a plan to get you back on track with your exercise goals.
Happy Running!
